Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06837. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A carved limestone head and upper neck, turned to face left in profile, with a broad hairstyle of wavy ridged locks swept over the forehead and down beside the ear. The eye, nose and mouth are modelled in relief, and the surface is weathered and slightly pitted. The neck ends in a rough, flat break, and a dark rod below supports the piece on a stand.
