Pottery Plain White IV-V (J.758)

Pottery Plain White IV-V jug from Idalion with a broken rim, photographed against a grey background — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06025g. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A pale, pear-shaped vessel with a short, narrow neck and an uneven, broken rim stands in the centre of the photograph. Its surface shows darker speckles and small marks, and the lower body is lit strongly so it looks washed out. The print is mounted on a card with a pale border, and a faint shadow shows behind the vessel.
