Description

Two photographs sit on one light card mount. The upper one shows an oval, beetle-shaped stone scarab seen from its back, with a raised head area, a horizontal ridge and a central incised line dividing the wing cases. The lower one shows a white impression of the flat base, with a vertical central line and curved, stylised marks along the sides, partly rubbed.

Description, scan 2
A single oval object, a scarab, fills most of the frame against a plain dark grey backdrop. Its surface shows a horizontal ridge across the middle, a vertical crack or groove running down from the centre, and dark worn areas near the top and bottom edges. The photograph is soft-focused, so the incised detail is hard to read.
