Iron Weapons, arrow-heads (A. 004)

Description
A heavily corroded iron object with a rough, pitted surface, photographed on a pale card mount. Its outline is irregular: a narrow knob at the top, a broad middle section and a lower part that narrows and divides into uneven lobes. Mottled grey and dark patches of corrosion cover the whole piece, and a small printed label sits at the lower right of the mount.

- Description, scan 2
- A single corroded iron object, long and narrow, slightly wider towards the top and tapering to a rounded lower end. Its surface is rough and crusted, with dark and pale patches of corrosion along its length. It lies centred on a pale grey card mount, with a small printed label at the lower edge.
- Description, scan 3
- A long, heavily corroded iron object, narrow at the top, widening below the middle and tapering toward the lower end. Its rough, pitted surface shows dark and pale patches of corrosion. It is shown vertically on a pale, cut-out card mount against a grey background.
- Description, scan 4
- A long, narrow, heavily corroded iron object fills most of a pale rectangular strip. Its surface is pitted and crusted with rust, with darker and lighter patches, and its ends look rough and roughly square. No clear point, blade edge or socket is visible.
- Description, scan 5
- A long, narrow iron object, pointed at the upper end and blunt at the lower end, with a heavily corroded surface of dark and pale crusts. It is shown alone on a pale grey card cut to follow its outline, set against a cream background. The edges are irregular where corrosion has eaten into the metal.
- Description, scan 6
- A heavily corroded iron object, elongated in outline, with a rough crusty surface of rust and encrustation. Two blunt projections rise from the top edge and two more lie lower down, so it may be several corroded pieces fused together. It is photographed straight on against a plain grey ground, mounted on a pale card.
- Description, scan 7
- A single corroded iron object, long and narrow with a pointed tip at the top and a broader, blunt-ended base below. Its surface is crusted and pitted, with uneven dark and light patches. It is photographed on a pale grey card, with no scale or other objects beside it.
- Description, scan 8
- A single long, tapering iron object fills the frame, wider at the top and narrowing to a point at the bottom. Its surface is rough, pitted and heavily corroded, with lighter patches where the crust has flaked away. The photograph is mounted on a pale card with a narrow white border, and a small handwritten mark sits near the lower edge.
- Description, scan 9
- Several corroded iron arrowheads of varying length lie on a grey card, each beside a black label with a white number. The points taper to narrow tips, and some have a narrow stem or a damaged, uneven base. A handwritten note sits on the pale backing below the card, and one fragmentary piece has two forked tips.
