Stone statue from Soli, So. 448 C.M.

Description

A carved stone head with a bearded face, shown frontally against a pale backdrop. The eyes are large and almond-shaped with heavy lids, the nose is broken at its tip, and the beard is rendered as rows of incised, stylised curls framing the mouth and falling in a vertical block below it. The top of the head is smooth and rounded, with a band across the forehead and a projecting ear on the left side; the stone surface is pitted and weathered.
