Marble Sculpture (So.425)

Description
The head is carved in marble, with hair arranged in rows of waves and curls drawn back over the forehead and temples. The face has heavy-lidded eyes and a small, full mouth, and the neck is cut off at the bottom of the frame. A pale outline surrounds the head against the black background, and the surface shows small chips and wear.
