Terracotta figurine head with a wavy headdress and a short neck stub, photographed against a plain light background — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04148. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A moulded terracotta head with a short neck stub, shown frontally. The hair is raised in rows of waves or curls that frame the face, and the features are worn and softened. The surface is pitted and speckled, and the head fills most of the frame against a plain light backdrop on a mount with a pale border.
