Terracotta Minor Plastic Animals (J.487)

Terracotta fragment of a small plastic animal figure, probably from Idalion — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04037b. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A broken terracotta fragment is shown alone against a plain grey ground. A pointed projection rises from the upper edge, with a rounded lump and a ridged protrusion to the right, suggesting part of a head or muzzle. The surface looks pitted and worn, and the broken edges are clearly visible along the lower and left sides.
