Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C03903a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

An oval seal shown face-on against a grey backdrop, its surface engraved with thick, angular lines forming a bold design. A raised rim surrounds the face, and small rounded compartments run along the sides and lower edge. The high-contrast print is enlarged, so the incised marks look dark and heavy.

Description, scan 2
An oval object with a raised rim fills most of the frame against a plain grey ground. Its surface carries dark incised lines forming angular bands and a triangular shape near the centre, with several small rounded and square recesses along the edges. The outer rim is smooth and slightly bevelled, and the image is shown straight on.
