Description

Men and a woman work a timber winch over an excavated cutting among heaps of stone blocks at Vouni. A thick rope is wound on a wooden drum held by posts and beams, and a man in a dark waistcoat grips a bar to turn it. Several workers stand around the frame, one in a wide-brimmed hat, and a dark animal stands on the hill beyond.
