Description

Several people stand and watch at the edge of an excavation at Marion, some in hats and others in plain work clothes. In the foreground a man in a straw hat and dark jacket climbs down into a steep-sided cut, while a man in a pale hat leans over the edge of the spoil on the right. Stone blocks lie at the upper left edge of the cut, and a woman in a long dark skirt stands at right.
