Tomb 18 at Marion, during excavation

Description
An oval-topped opening is cut down into pale soil, and its dark interior drops out of the light. A thin wooden stake stands at the upper edge, and sparse grass and dry plant debris cover the ground around. Loose stones lie on the cut edges and on the spoil at the base, and the pale earth banks show the layers the excavation has cut through.
