Pottery Red Figured Ware, lekythos (M.18.6)

Red-figured lekythos, a small oil flask with a painted figure on its body — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05412. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A narrow-necked vessel with a flared mouth, a ring foot and a rounded body stands alone against a plain backdrop. A pale-painted figure, seated or leaning forward, is shown on the dark body above a horizontal band, with scroll-like motifs beside it. Cracks run across the body, and the photograph is mounted on a card with a border.
