    With Kristos, Tryfonas of Karavas (called 'a rogue' by Gjerstad) was one of two friends Gjerstad turned to when Lapithos villagers held out for higher pay; offered 14 piasters a day, both shouted 'Right away!' and next day the Karavas people marched to work.
