Life and work

  1. 1891–1892
    Published the recent acquisitions of the Vienna Antikensammlung for 1880-91 (Archäologischer Anzeiger 1891 and 1892); the KHM Cypriot catalogue cites these for Cypriot objects including pieces bought from Ohnefalsch-Richter (e.g. Schneider 1892, 115 no. 109, an object from Athienou-Golgoi acquired 1884, inv. V 1449).

    As Director, reported to the Oberstkämmereramt on the Ashmolean's gift (end of July 1905) of 25 Kamelarga votive statuettes (cat. nos. 60-64), praising Evans; the Kamelarga votive store had been found by Myres in 1894 and duplicates went to Paris, Berlin, London, Cambridge and Oxford.
