Life and work

  1. 1843–1844
The mission of 1843-44 'fait par ordre du gouvernement français' produced, with W. H. Waddington, the Voyage archéologique; its volume 3 (1870) prints Cypriot inscriptions (e.g. nos. 2779, 2781, 2782). A remark attributed to Le Bas and Waddington says the ruins of Soli are considerable and deserve excavation
