- 1766Accompanied the Chevalier Niebuhr to the Armenian inscriptions in the wall of the enclosure of the church of St Lazarus near Larnaca; Mariti describes him as a Maronite, conversant with various tongues, who acted as interpreter to strangers and was, 'if I mistake not', also Mr Swinton's guide.
