Life and work
- 1977–1982Hofstadter's Turkish Cypriot informants connected Harman to many church thefts in the north in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and said two shepherd boys saw him (white with plaster dust) at the church at Lysi.

- UndatedNamedHofstadter's informants (two Turkish Cypriots) say a single man, Hasan Harman, was connected to many thefts on the island and describe him as, with Mustafa Avçibaşı, Kemal Köse and Ahmet Kadir Dinç, having stripped many churches; they say the crew had been hired by Aydın Dikmen. No conviction of Harman is recorded in the sources read. A case against Dikmen for the Lysi frescoes is said to have been opened in Famagusta District.
