Life and work
- 12 January 1875Cesnola wrote to Baraezi (note 25 cites a letter of 12 Jan 1875); letter of 1 Dec 1875 to him is illustrated (Dartmouth College Archives).
- 1875Proposed purchase of the Cesnola Collection (the Cypriot finds still in Cyprus/stored abroad) for exhibition at the Philadelphia Centennial. Cesnola asked $60,000 in gold (accepting $50,000), told Baraezi to deal through Hiram Hitchcock (power of attorney), and offered him a commission of $3,000 or $2,500 (5% as he told Hitchcock). No sale resulted in this account.
