Life and work

    The Directorate of Antiquities wrote to him, as Inspector of Antiquities in Izmir, about the fire-ruined collections of the Evangelical School; the Izmir Museum then excavated the debris and found 185 copper coins (Kurt 2016, quoted)

    Izmir Archaeology Museum opened to the public (date as argued by Rous, Laugier and Martinez); his 1927 guide to it (Turkish ed. 'Izmir', French 'Smyrne') names no Cypriot piece and does not mention the Evangelical School collection
