- c. 1866As American Commissioner on the mixed commission sent to Cyprus after Cesnola's consular guard Mustafa Fefsi was seized, handled the case so that the decision went wholly in Cesnola's favour (Cesnola's account); satisfaction included dismissal of the Larnaca Caimakam Genab Effendi.
- UndatedMarangou, from the Consular Reports, says Cesnola was ordered to report to Beirut, to Johnson as Consul General there, rather than to Constantinople.
