    Hofstadter says that, after Turkish Cypriots withdrew into enclaves in 1963, the man called Dikmen developed useful contacts on the island and 'met Ali Mehmet Ali, the daring smuggler and guerrilla fighter'. Later: 'some evidence' that Ali Mehmet Ali put Dikmen in touch with Mehmet Rasih Savarona before the Kyrenia Castle robbery.
