Ottoman official
Ahmet Kaiserli Pasha
fl. 1868–1870 · Ottoman
Ottoman official, active 1868–1870. Worked at Dardanelles.
Life and work
- 1869–1870Visited Cyprus on a man of war and saw Cesnola's antiquities; asked whether Cesnola would give some to the government (Cesnola's own account, in a letter quoted by Marangou).

- 1869–1870Took charge of two large cases of antiquities that Cesnola destined as a present to the Ottoman Museum (Constantinople). According to Cesnola the cases travelled as far as the Dardanelles, 'the official residence' of the pasha, and never reached Constantinople; inquiries by the American Legation found no trace. Cesnola 1878 adds that he 'should not be surprised if he had sent them instead to some dealer in antiquities': a suspicion, not a finding.
