History
- 1914A donation of almost 100 vases from Cyprus added substantially to the core of the teaching museum of Reading University College; other early sources were Hilda Flinders Petrie and the EEF, Percy Ure, and Mrs Ellen Barry, who gave objects collected while living in Cyprus with her husband in the 1880s.
- 1990Sturt W. Manning (University of Reading) began an intensive survey of the lower Maroni valley, later the Maroni Valley Archaeological Survey Project; rescue excavation of the 7th-century basilica at Maroni-Petrera followed in 1992-93.
