History

  1. 1990–1997
Intensive survey of the lower Maroni river valley (Larnaca district) led by Sturt W. Manning, working in association with Gerald Cadogan's Maroni Valley Project (active since 1981). Aims: systematic study of settlement, a regional setting for the Maroni-Vournes excavation, and a record before destruction by agriculture and development. Found scanty ceramic Neolithic, substantial Iron Age (late 8th-5th c. BC), Late Bronze Age and Late Roman remains.
