88 surviving pieces from the Cesnola gift (vases, stone and clay figurines, glass vessels) (2001)
History
- 1871–1878Masson, following Johnston (1878), lists Perugia among Cesnola's recipients, with Late Bronze Age vases and a Temple boy described as 'gift of L. P. di Cesnola'.
- 1875Two cases of Cypriot antiquities sent by Luigi Palma di Cesnola from Cyprus to Conestabile della Staffa's house in Perugia, over a hundred pieces; the museum's 88-piece Cypriot collection derives from them. Others date the gift to c. 1872 (London exhibition); the authors prefer 1875.
