History
- 1971A very long campaign at three places on the site. At the seaside cemetery (Palaeokastro) fifteen tombs under Pecorella, fourteen already plundered and one intact; the cemetery served LC I, late Geometric and the Archaic period. Quilici dug the town site (900 sq m by 1971, plus a 90 m trench).

- 1972Under Carlo Gallavotti with Pecorella, Quilici and Rocchetti as directors of works. Pecorella and Rocchetti dug 25 tombs at Palaeokastron, all Archaic, several intact (including an Euboean skyphos); five more tombs at Kharangas, all plundered; the Quilicis exposed much of the Hellenistic and Roman small town including a public bath.

- 1977Pecorella publishes the Late Bronze Age tombs of the seaside necropolis (Le tombe dell'eta del bronzo tardo della necropoli a mare di Ayia Irini, Paleokastro, Rome).
