The project
In 1992 Maria Hadjicosti uncovered extensive Hellenistic structures at Lympia in a salvage excavation for the Department of Antiquities1. The salvage excavation was in connection with the laying of water pipes under the main road from Dhali to Limpia1. Pamela Gaber identifies the structures as evidently belonging to the "Lower City" during the floruit of the gypsum-faced administrative complex1.
