Elaborate Wreath Statue

Elaborate Wreath Statue

Description:

Head of a life-sized limestone statue of a woman (?) wearing an elaborate wreath, probably a worshipper. The back of the head is missing, as well as the ears (except for a small portion of the right ear). Inverted triangular face, full features with a rounded chin; oval eyes framed by ridges, pointing obliquely inwards; prominent brow ridge; delicate nose. The hair on the crown of the head is not detailed, but a fringe of spiral curls (edges damaged) can be seen below the wreath. She wears a turban-like wreath, where the reeds/leaves replace the fabric of a turban, below which hang a series of pendants.
