Painted Lion Statuette
Description: | Light grey limestone statuette of a lion, painted. Lion seated on a small rectangular plinth. The tail is curling around the right hind leg, the front legs are very sturdy. The face is expressive with small, rather narrow, eyes (with traces of black paint); the mouth is slightly open, revealing the teeth with the red painted tongue protruding. The mane is worked flat and appears to be collar-like. There is a break through the frontpaws, belly and hind quarters; ears, head, and chin are chipped.
