Description

A steep hillside covered with conifers and scrub falls away from the top of the frame. A faint path winds up across the slope. In the lower right, the ruined remains of a stone wall stand among shrubs, and a tall wall fragment rises at the left edge beside a dark tree. Rocky outcrops and bushes fill the foreground.

Description, scan 2: A dense wooded hillside slopes up from the lower part of the view, its pines broken by pale paths zigzagging across the slope. In the lower left a tall, narrow stone wall stands among dark trees and rocks, and broken walls of a ruined building appear on the right. A dark rock face frames the right edge of the picture.
