Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06363. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A carved limestone head in profile, facing right, with hair rendered in parallel grooves swept back from the forehead and a raised band with spiral ornament above the ear. The large ear has a curled rim, and the face shows a straight nose, mouth and chin, with the neck cut off at the base. The head stands on a dark round base against a plain grey backdrop, and the stone surface shows a granular texture and worn areas.
