Hellenistic roman terracotta limestone object from Mersinaki (Me. 1078. S)

Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06030. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A broken fragment of a head is photographed against a pale backdrop. The face is in profile facing right, with a projecting nose, lips and chin, while the top and back edges are rough and chipped. The grey-brown surface is pitted and cracked, and the piece sits on a plain surface that casts a soft shadow.
