Hellenistic roman Mersinaki Terracotta limestone

Description

A carved head is shown in right profile against a plain grey backdrop. Its short hair is arranged in rows of rounded curls over the forehead, ear and neck, and the face has a broad jaw and straight nose. The granular, pale surface suggests stone, and the neck ends in a flat cut base resting on a pale support at the bottom of the frame.
