Amathus T. 2-26

Oval object from Amathus with incised lines on its flat base, mounted on a card. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05374ff. Public domain (CC0).

Description

An oval object with a domed back fills most of a grey card mount, and its flat base shows incised lines: a vertical line crossing a horizontal one, with curved strokes at the right. A patch of blue-grey colour sits on the left side, and the surface is worn and darker toward the edges. The photograph is mounted on a cream card with a narrow border, and handwriting is visible along the bottom edge.

Description, scan 2: Photograph of an oval object with a rounded outline, shown against a plain grey backdrop. A round hole is pierced through the body near the centre, and faint incised lines cross the surface below it. The mottled, dark-and-pale surface and the soft focus make fine detail and the edges hard to make out.
