Torn strip of embossed sheet with repeated arch motifs, a find from Amathus — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05370d. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A long, narrow strip with torn ends and uneven edges, lying flat on a grey card. Its surface has rows of repeated raised motifs, arched and hooked shapes with ridges running between them. Strong side light throws deep shadows under each arch, and the strip fills almost the whole frame.
