Terracotta head with a band of rounded knobs across the top of the head, from Mersinaki — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04971. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A head with a smooth, rounded face, straight nose, small mouth and lowered eyes. A row of rounded knob-like elements runs over the top of the head above a raised band, and the ears stand out in relief. The neck ends abruptly at the base, and the pitted, worn surface has a small chip at the lower right; it is photographed alone on a plain light background.
