Bowl from Amathus with a dark, encrusted surface and one side broken away. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04275. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A dark, heavily encrusted bowl photographed from the side on a pale surface. The rounded body has a thick rim, and the wall is broken away in the middle so that two uneven rim ends stand up at either side. Pale mineral crust covers much of the outside, and the lower edge of the vessel is lit against the light background.
