Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04245. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A large carved stone head of a bearded man, photographed in right profile against a pale draped backdrop. The surface is rough and weathered, with deep chisel marks in the beard and hair, and the head rests on a plain, broken-off neck. The ear and the facial profile are clearly visible, and the flat lower edge of the neck is uneven.
