Marble Sculpture (So.438)

Description
A marble head, broken off at the neck, with the face turned slightly to the viewer's left. The hair is rendered in rows of wavy locks drawn back from the forehead and gathered at the back, and the eyes, nose and mouth are well preserved, though the nose tip is chipped. The head rests on a light surface with a white painted support or plaster beneath the neck, against a plain grey background.
