Terracotta Minor Plastic 2, nail (So.23)

Terracotta head of a small figure, worn, seen from the front — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04093b. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A terracotta head with a rounded skull and short neck, cut off flat at the base, shown front-on against a pale backdrop. The surface is worn, with pale patches of surface loss across the brow, cheek and nose. Dark shadow falls along one side of the face, so the features are hard to make out.
