Pottery vessel in situ during excavation at Stylli, seen in a rock-cut trench — Photograph: John Lindros, Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1930. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C03526. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A large rounded pottery vessel with a short neck and a ridge around its body sits in a narrow excavated cutting. The pale, crumbly soil walls and a dark overhang frame it, and a diagonal shadow, possibly of a pole, crosses the right side of the picture. A step-like ledge is visible at the lower left.
