Excavation at Kythrea: stone construction

Description
A wide excavated area with a curved wall of rough-cut stones running along the left and foreground, enclosing a bare dug floor. In the centre sits a low circular stone base, with a few loose stones scattered nearby and a small upright stake by the wall. Beyond, spoil heaps and eroded earth banks give way to a flat plain and distant low hills under a pale sky.
