Description

Looking down into an excavated tomb at Amathus, with large dressed stone blocks along the sides and a cluster of vessels at the upper centre. A partly disarticulated skeleton lies in the centre beside the vessels, and a second skeleton with its skull is visible at the right, its bones lying in the soil. Shadows fall across the lower part of the pit.
