Description

A deep excavation cutting photographed in strong light and shadow. A large pale rock outcrop projects from the right-hand wall, with smaller stones in the cut above it. Loose soil and a scatter of pebbles lie in the foreground, and the diagonal shadow of a long straight object, perhaps a pole, crosses the lower part of the image.
