Several donkeys with bundles and packs strapped on their backs walk along a flat, pale stone surface strewn with rubble. Three young riders sit on them, one holding a long pole upright, and the sea and a hazy sky fill the background.

- Three people sit on donkeys along a pale, flat stone surface with rubble at the edges. The rider in the centre holds a long pole, and the donkey at the far left carries a bulky load of sacks. Several more donkeys are partly visible behind, and the sea lies beyond a flat horizon.
