Description

Several people dig with shovels in a shallow cutting in dry, stony ground. A man in a light shirt and hat leans over his shovel, and a woman in a hat stands near the centre. Behind them a row of people stands along the edge of the cutting, a tree shows at the left, and open fields and low hills stretch to the horizon.
