Description

A rocky hilltop with a pointed summit and pale outcrops fills the foreground, falling away to scrubby slopes on the right. Beyond, a broad hazy plain stretches to the left, with a faint line of water near the horizon, and further mountain ranges rise in the distance under a cloudy sky.

Taken from high above a rocky ridge, the view runs down onto a wide hazy plain on the left, where a stretch of water shows near the horizon. Further mountain ranges fade into haze beyond, and on the right the slopes are covered with dark scrub and trees. Pale bare rock and scattered bushes fill the foreground ridge, and a dark cloud shadow lies across the lower right.
