Description

A wide, fast-flowing river runs diagonally from the lower left toward the right, with shallow pools and rippled sand on the near bank and rows of loose stones along the water's edge. A cluster of tall trees stands on the left above the bank, with a long line of trees further off on the right and a small windmill visible at the far left. The sky is pale and empty, and no people are visible.

A wide river flows diagonally from the centre towards the right, with rippling grey water and low, muddy banks. Stones line the edge of the water in the middle distance, and shallow pools and ripple-marked sand lie in the foreground on the left. Trees form a dense group on the left and a long row along the far bank, and a small windmill stands at the far left against a pale sky.
