Wide view down from higher ground over the village of Lapithos, with white houses set among trees and a sloping wall or path in the foreground. Beyond lies a plain of cultivated fields and a band of sea under a pale sky. Tree branches frame the top of the view and rocks lie in the lower foreground.

Description, scan 2: Looking down from a hillside through dark tree branches, white flat-roofed houses of Lapithos are spread among trees and bushes. Beyond the village a wide plain of cultivated fields stretches to a pale band of sea on the horizon. A low stone wall or path runs diagonally across the lower foreground among rocks and shrubs.
